Georgetown County Public Library
405 Cleland Street Georgetown, SC 29440
The gorgeous homes of Georgetown’s Historic District will be shining even more brightly this year, with swirls of twinkling lights, mantles festooned with fragrant boughs, heirloom holiday ornaments hung with care, and the smell of cinnamon in the air. Come get in the holiday spirit with a tour of these holly, jolly homes during the nineteenth annual Friends of the Georgetown Library Yuletide Home Tour. This year’s event is planned for Saturday, December 11, from 1 – 5 pm. The Home Tour is self-guided and maps will be provided.
Eight beautiful residences in and around Georgetown’s Historic District will be bedecked in holiday finery and opened for visiting. In addition, two venerable houses of worship will open their doors to tour goers.
The tour is a wonderful way to celebrate the season and see how Georgetown gets in the holiday spirit. It’s an entertaining afternoon for a good cause: all proceeds go to support the children and youth programs at the Library.
Also returning this year is Santa’s Shoppe at the Georgetown Library, where local craftspeople will display unique wares. Santa’s Shoppe will be open from 10 am – 5 pm on the day of the Tour. It is a great place to find truly unique Christmas gifts, or perhaps something for yourself.
Tickets are $25 per person, ($20 for members of Friends groups of any of the County libraries). They may be purchased in advance at the Georgetown Library, 405 Cleland Street, or the Waccamaw Library, 41 St. Paul Place.
