To celebrate the December holidays in Georgetown, the Friends sponsor the annual Yuletide Home Tour of beautiful Georgetown homes, houses of worship, and museums on the second Saturday in December.
Between ten and twelve residences in and around Georgetown’s Historic District, decorated in holiday finery, are opened for visiting. In addition, two venerable houses of worship open their doors to tour participants. And now included are two of the several excellent museums in downtown Georgetown. It’s an entertaining day for a good cause: all proceeds go to support the children and youth reading programs at the Library.
Ticket reservations may be made online or at any of the County Library branches: the Georgetown Library, 405 Cleland Street; the Andrews Library, 105 N Morgan Street; the Carvers Bay Library, 13048 Choppee Road; the Southern Georgetown Library, 4187 Powell Road; and the Waccamaw Library, 41 St. Paul Place. With the construction at the Library, participants are to go to Prince George Winyah Anglican Church at 300 Broad Street to pick up tickets and tour information on the day of the Tour any time after 10:00 am.
